Tomorrow's Scandals today...
Oct. 5th, 2008 05:27 pmTomorrow, the McCain campaign is going to file an official protest to the Federal Election Commission saying that the Obama campaign isn't checking its donations in line with the law, and demanding a full audit of donations.
This was on a news conference earlier this afternoon, details (including the audio campaign from the Repbulicans) here: http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/10/05/rnc-to-seek-audit-of-all-contributions-to-obama-campaign/
I think that the McCain campaign and the Republican 527s are hoping for a quick knock-out similar to the Swift Boats for Truth, and are going to try a large number of smears over the next few days. Because the groups aren't coordinated, probably a lot are going to launch tomorrow in advance of the Tuesday debate and then again on thursday or next monday.
