When I think about Death and Chaos, which is what the last six months have been rife with, I find myself thinking retrospectively about I will follow you until the Dark by Death Cab for Cutie. I head it right when I learned Nathan had passed away, and again when I was driving to his wake here. I found myself whistling it when we were looking for the crash site.
DCFC is so emo it weeps little tears of blood onto its vespa, but that song, at least, is a good one.
Heard it last night as I was driving from Randy's bday thing to Snakes on a Plane, and had to pull over to think for a bit about life.
Snakes on a Plane was the single most fun thing I've done all summer. I beg everyone to go and see this in the theatres before the crowds start going down. It's a great movie for watching in a crowd, better in some ways than the dying Rocky Horror Picture Show. I imagine that SOAP is going to become a midnight movie regular from here on out. rimrunner, Mr. D-, Eric, and Cathy and it was good to see all of them before taking off.
How much fun was it? The PI has a recording of the crowd at the beginning of the movie.
SoaP is about many things, but it also is sort of reminiscent of life in that it's a series of perfect moments strung together in an somewhat arbitrary fashion that doesn't necessarily make sense even in retrospect.
so: meteors -> ignition nw board meeting -> tost -> lunch w/friends -> tea w/friends -> consulting -> equilateral string trio -> r's bday party -> snakes on a plane -> now -> d's bday party -> a silver mt. zion -> s' rooftop bbq -> a's bday party -> pool party -> kold war -> get new glasses -> portland -> crater lake -> gerlach -> black rock city -> reno -> sf -> black rock city -> fear -> hope -> future.
