B/IAS -- burien interim art space.
Jan. 25th, 2009 10:20 amI'll post my own pictures later -- but this gives you an idea of the environment we installed into. Great art (of which Passage is the largest piece included here for scale) installed into an everyday context where it would be encountered daily by people in their everyday lives.
Talked to a bunch of burieners yesterday who were impressed by this, the firepod, and charlie smith's pieces a great deal. It was a wonderful afternoon, and as I've said before, I think that this style of installation is the shape of things to come.
There is a strip mall on one side of this and a bartells and a burger king. This is highly visible from one of the main routes in and out of burien proper. It'll be a good year of art there, and it'll be a good place for events this summer.
Thanks to everyone who worked to put it together.
