rwxAt Dorkbot tomorrow, we'll be displaying parts of the Machine art project that we've been building for the last while. I think that mostly the transmission will be there. Two of the arms will be at the party on Saturday. To get an idea of the scale of the transmission, the entire multiton top half of the structure spins.
For reference, this is what the machine looks like:
There have been a couple of changes to the design since this render was made, mostly that there's multiple central platforms and it's hard to make out some of the details. To get an idea of the structure size, when the arms are fully raised, the structure will be five stories tall.
Information on Dorkbot can be found here. It will be at SAM. There are lots of other interesting speakers as well. For scale reference, the third picture of the Machine on the dorkbot page is of one of the three small outlying structures. I'm one of the people standing inside it.
