Today, I went back to the Arboretum to see if I could find the mysteriously absent Rhododendron Way. I'd gone looking for it the other day and been unable to find it.

  • Pandora's Cache II. This was another one of the early Seattle caches that was hidden by people before the sort of foo of geocaching was established. It's right out in the middle of a frequently travelled area, and as such has been plundered once and people don't like to leave things there (see the logs for more details.) Geocaching first took off hereabouts, so some of the caches predate good ideas about how to make caches and how to hide them.
  • Rhododendron Lane. I found Rhododendron Lane after looking for it for a couple of minutes this time, last time I looked for it for about 45 minutes with no success. My assumptions this time was that everything in the description of the cache was wrong aside from the location, and the location was probably accurate to within about 50 meters. With this as a guide, I just went from place to place that looked likely to be a geocaching hide site with poor gps reception until i found the cache. My assumption is that someone moved it from the original location at some point, probably in late february/early march. I posted coordinates with my find because I had a good lock on the satellites. whee.

So that was that, aside from that, I had a business meeting, did some programming, finally got my packages from UPS, and reclaimed my truck from impound today. It was an all right day, although a trifle on the lengthy side. Now on to the evening, I guess...
