hot times in neighborhood

Today, I was walking back from the Elysian after winning (HFS BEES) the first seattle edition of Cruel 2B Kind, a social game about using public (and sincere) compliments in 'The Benevolent Assassination Game,' when I saw a mattress burning outside the Online Coffee.

Someone had dumped the mattress there last night, and apparently someone had set it on fire. After talking to the barrista who was watching it for a bit, I walked back to my truck, got the ABC extinguisher out, and then shot the mattress with it until it stopped burning.

So, the fire department gets there, sees me standing there with a fire extinguisher, and the first thing the guy driving says is, 'well, it *was* burning.' Apparently, the people inside the coffee place were watching and saw me walk up, nonchalantly pull the pin out, and start spraying, and thought I looked 'cool.'

Apparently, it's my day to be cool. More about the game later.
