I think that there was a 'tell' on the Galactica itself about one of the characters being a cylon in the last episode. It paralleled the early tells for sharon.
If you want to find a cylon in BSG, look for the characters with a history of abuse. Since the sleeper agents should never contact their families, they should have a very strong reason not to every try to investigate their own cover.
I also think this is the context of D'Anna's apology when she sees the final five.
At least some of the final five will be based on greek myth, this is because the show overall seems to have a weird lamarckian chain of being. The world is arranged from bottom to top, with creator above creation. Therefore, at the start of the series, it was roughly animals -> animal-like cylons (raiders) -> centurions -> humanoid cylons / humans -> lords of kobol -> (the one/the source).
A lot of really crazy things have happened as a result of the cylon's attempt to move up the chain through forcing 'evolution.' But I think the most likely of them is that the lords of kobol (who are 5) are paralleled by the five unseen cylons, who are trying to supplant that level on the chain in the same way as the humanoid cylons attempt to supplant humanity.
What will happen? The real key to all this (that the cylons in general don't get) is that organic life is just that, organic. It's messy, and sticky, and probabilistic rather than this great chain. I think eventually the war will settle down to a standstill after another 20 or so years, when enough human-cylon hybrids exist to make the sides even more questionable than they are now.
