rwxLast night was one of those nights where everything seems to come out pretty well. I went to two different parties, and talked to a lot of people and had fun. So last night: a total of three hours away from writing papers, and about six spent staring at the ceiling trying to focus hard enough to write papers and not sleep.
All in all, it was a good time. I'm glad for the burning man community in a lot of ways, but on of the ways in which I'm most glad is the way that we all accept our differences in various ways and form a community. There's certain exceptions to that, but you've got to have assclowns wherever you go, most likely. It makes me somewhat sad that the odds of me going to burning man this year are pretty low, but that's life.
I look forward to Friday two weeks from now when I will be finished with all this crap and life will resume its normal patterns. This summer is getting pretty booked out already, still want to do that pinball meetup once I have more stuff nailed down jobwise.
