drjohn, working on the last of my stats homework. Flipside was incredibly wonderful this year, things have really gotten extreme out on the New Land (flat creek ranch.) Texas hill country is very beautiful, if a trifle hot.
At night, it's very reminiscent of the pine barrens out on the eastern end of long island, presumably with things blighted by heat rather than continuous wind. The land itself was roughly teardrop in shape with a hillcrest in the middle that served as the Esplanade/center camp area.
The scope of the camps were incredible, and the quality of the art was very high. A lot of the art was incorporated into the theme camps, which is different than locally, which tends to concentrate on art installations. There was also a high incidence of random wonderful things strewn about.
The best thing about Flipside for me, though, was catching up with all my friends in Austin and seeing what they were up to these years.
Probably more later. I will be back in Seattle latish tonight. 7 hour flights give a lot of time for introspection, but I appear to be about introspected out at the moment.
