geocaching: Elizabeth Ney Cache
Jun. 4th, 2006 09:39 amAfter flipside, I went back with
drjohn to his house in Austin to rest and hang out with Austinites. Alarmingly, we both mostly ended up sleeping for a day and a half. After waking up, seeing
deeptape et al. briefly, and having coffee with Steve after a crazy scramble to get generators returned to the store on time, and another nap followed by more coffee in a desperate quest to maintain consciousness for more than a minute at a time, i searched for nearby geocaches.
The Elizabeth Ney geocache is near the Elizabeth Ney museum. The cache was relatively easy to find, although I think I might have lost my 'reading' ability for in-city geocaching.
No photo associated with this one, because my camera is/was full of high-res photos of flipside from a nearby hill.
It was a good time, hopefully
drjohn will do more geocaching in texas. Overall, giveen texas' relatively higher number of things that bite and sting than seattle, geocaching may be a more risky proposition there. I was wondering if the logistics of fire ants, scorpions, and snakes would change the way things are hidden there, but the couple of caches i've looked for have been hidden in more or less usual ways.

Date: 2006-06-05 05:30 am (UTC)It was fun, and I'll remember the moment when I saw the tupperware peeking out for a long time.
I hope the poison ivy was fully avoided.
