Sixteen movie quotes I'm fond of (either the movie or the quote itself). See if you can identify the movie.

#1: [livejournal.com profile] dawn_guy, guessed Alien, it's Alien3, close enough.
We commit these bodies to the void with a glad heart. For within each seed, there is a promise of a flower, and within each death, no matter how small, there is always a new life. A new beginning.

#2: [livejournal.com profile] tanjent, Dark City.
When was the last time you remember doing something during the day?

#3: [livejournal.com profile] anavolena, North by Northwest
Something wrong with your eyes?
Yes, they're sensitive to questions.

#4: I'm not really into headbanging.
Are you into any kind of banging?

#5: [livejournal.com profile] safetybitch, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are dead.
All your life you live so close to truth it becomes a permanent blur in the corner of your eye. And when something nudges it into outline, it's like being ambushed by a grotesque.

#6: [livejournal.com profile] marc17, Fight Club.
you are now firing a gun at your 'imaginary friend' near 400 GALLONS OF NITROGLYCERINE!

#7: [livejournal.com profile] bbcaddict, True Romance.
I always said, if I had to fuck a guy... I mean had to, if my life depended on it... I'd fuck Elvis.

#8: What little I knew about seial killers I learned in a university library. The only thing I knew for certain was that people didn't kill each other in libraries.

#9: The probe? Where does the probe go?

#10: [livejournal.com profile] tanjent
Oh, oh is this like a, is this like a pirate operation?
Do I look like a pirate to you?

#11: [livejournal.com profile] marc17, Apocalypse Now.
Everyone gets everything he wants. I wanted a mission, and for my sins, they gave me one. Brought it up to me like room service. It was a real choice mission, and when it was over, I never wanted another.

#12: [livejournal.com profile] anavolena, Time Bandits.
If I were creating the world I wouldn't mess about with butterflies and daffodils. I would have started with lasers, eight o'clock, Day One!

#13: [livejournal.com profile] safetybitch, Playing God.
In any case I guess I learned that if you are in the business of saving lives you had better start with your own. And, of course, always call 911.

#14: [livejournal.com profile] rimrunner, Drunken Master.
What does it mean when there's a picture of a skull?

#15: [livejournal.com profile] dawn_guy
A gun is a tool, Marion, no better or no worse than any other tool, an axe, a shovel or anything. A gun is as good or as bad as the man using it. Remember that.

#16: [livejournal.com profile] rimrunner, A Clockwork Orange.
No time for the ol' in-out, love. I've just come to read the meter!

#5 Guildenstern :)
#13 Playing God (I hated that movie)
#16 I know someone already got it, but this was my favourite movie for ages. I saw it 56 times one semester. Mostly to scare the hell out of the four catholic sorority girls I was sharing a condo with. It worked.

Right on both. Playing God isn't one of my favorite movies per se, but it is one of the ones I paraphrase most often. Not great, but eminently quotable.

When I was first accepted to Simon's Rock, the Dean of students told me (during my initial interview) that I would have to watch Heathers to really understood the school. Now I have a similar movie that I think applies to EMS. It's becoming one of my all-time favourites.

"I realised that my training was useful in less than ten percent of the calls, and saving lives was rarer than that. After a while, I grew to understand that my role was less about saving lives than about bearing witness. I was a grief mop. It was enough that I simply turned up."

:)

Hah. I should have included that movie. A number of people have described me as being like the main character in that movie.
